Well if I was riding by on that galloping horse I would just have to slow right down to get a good look at that gorgeous quilt. Its beautiful and I love all the different purples in it.

Such a beautiful quilt,--my favorite basic color. Very neat looking. A simple technique becomes a fine work of art. Very nice!

Can I ask your formula? Looks like it was 4 inch blocks on the front and a 12 inch on the back? Is that right? I think it's beautiful and you've given me a great idea for another QAYG. I did two for granddaughters some time ago and I love the process. Don't mind the strips at all, I make them part of the design.

It's twin size and I'll be making a pillowcase to go with it this afternoon. They have recently relocated back to their roots in Iowa and finding jobs has been a challenge, so I thought a quilt might perk the daughter up and a bowtucks will do wonders for the mom.

I really like the QAYG method but I don't like the look of the sashing part, so am going to try again only just sewing the sqs.
together with stitch in the ditch for the final sewing. If that doesn't work I may do the back with hand stitching. Just thinking out loud here.
I am doing QAYG and I don't sash the front side of the quilt....I just sash the back. On my current one I am doing block by block which will require alot of hand binding on the back, but it is what I prefer. On my last one I did a block of blocks and didn't have quite so much sashing, but for my current project I wanted to do single blocks.
