You have such a treasure. Yes you need a belt. I have a Kenmore from 1962 that is very similar. They are work horses. I still use mine. Enjoy!

That is an awesome looking machine. I think it deserves a second chance at life!

I have had a love affair with Kenmore's. I have had 3 of them in 40 years. Great machines that sew so well and are so dependable.

Sew much fun quilting,

While I am thinking about it Sharon you can find out the exact year it was sold by the plate on the inside of the cabinet. It will have the model number and the year the cabinet was sold.

What a great old machine. I can't wait to see her cleaned up and back to her glory.

Cool! My mom has a Kenmore. After fighting with several different machines for years and years she got her Kenmore, on sale for like $50 when she was in the store looking for something else. It is her favorite machine she has ever touched. I think it is a fine little thing!
Wishing you the best with your "new baby!"

I bought a similar machine in a different cabinet about 25 years ago for $25. It's now my back-up, but I won't get rid of it. It's a good machine, but definitely too awkward to bring to classes!
