Boyohboy - you said a mouthfull! when he retired, DH said he'd do the vacuuming, the cooking & the kitchen floor, so I don't mind having the same meal over and over, and I don't look at the rugs, but sometimes I just have to grab the mop & go to work on the kitchen floor - you never know when the health department might drop in ~ ~ ~

Keep it clean enough to be healthy and messy enough to be happy

Welcome to our home, please do not write your name in the dust.
My sign says:

If you came to see me, come on in.........If you came to see my house, please make an appointment!

Now I LOVE that one!~!~!~

Okay, I just have to post on this topic again. One of my friends calls me a neat freak...this is the same girl that moved into a new apartment after her divorce and three months later finally realized her ex took the vacuum cleaner! :-D

Your house can be spotless but if the bed is not made and or there are dirty dishes in the sink it will look messy. So take care of those every day and then just do a little every day and don't let clutter accumulate.

Man, I'm beginning to think that's I'm kind of piggy. I work full time as a high school teacher (we start work at 6:50 in the morning), and then after we're out I go to my translation job, and I'm also a writer. When I get home from job #2 (translation) I pick up my daughter from my mom, start to cook and keep the baby entertained.

I "deep" clean the house 2 times a year - that's when I pull out the fridge and wipe the walls down and pull stuff out of closets. But in a general week I vacuum one time, have hardwood floors all downstairs so I mop them 2 times a week and dust when I can. I'm tired when I go to bed, and would rather have time spent relaxing by quilting and playing with the baby

I keep newspapers picked up, vac once a week, dishes go in dishwasher when dirty. Vertical surfaces seem to catch a lot of clutter which I TRY to keep down. Today I cleaned top of dresser. Got rid of a lot of junk. There is actually room on the top now.
My daughter says 'dust is a protective coating for your
furniture.'
Had to dust instrument panel of car yesterday as sun was shining & I couldn't see dials clearly.
