Alto's Quilt Cut 2
#51
Can't comment on the Fiskars part - but I don't really find it hard to move back and forth. I have no place to have even a cutting mat all the time, so everything is put away. I am going to make a case for mine, but I just put it back in its box when it needs to be stored. The box has tabs to hold itself closed and a built-in handle. It lives behind my door, just like my other mats. To me, it is not any more of a chore to pull out than my regular mat and set up. HTH

Any one out there with MD of the eyes? I don't have problems cutting on a green mat. However, the Alto's 2 has a beige mat which does not help my eyes. Called Co. they said to glue a green mat on it making sure my measurements lines are in the correct place. Told them that they should offer a variety of colored mats because of our aging population.

If you are talking about the ruler with the rotary blade attached, I found that if you turned the ruler around the measurements were not always the same. Also blade has some play in it and it 'wiggles' enough to shift the cutting line slighty as your weight changes the further up you go.
I rarely use mine anymore.

I'm going to a quilt show next weekend and they are having demos on both. I plan on buying ant Alto because it just seems more natural and I have a friend that has the AccuQuilt Go and it seems like more work and you have to buy the dies for the sizes you want or need and they aren't cheap. So Alto it is!!

I have had one for 3 years. I saw it at a quilt show and told my husband about it and he bought it for me for Christmas. You can only buy it at a quilt show or online. I had a slight problem with the mat. It was very stiff and hard to cut on. Changed the mat and it works fine. I did get a video with it. You can go to Alto's Quilt Cut 2 and see a demo. Once you get the hang of it you cutting will be perfect.

Hey Carmen, Saw your post and am interested in selling my Altos cutting system. I have the original and then I upgraded, so have both the arms. I also have the carrying case. Would charge exact postage whatever that comes out to. Let me know if you are interested. $150 for all. Smiles, Deb in NC

Okay - this is gonna drive me nuts!! I've been online looking for this product, and all I get are either web sites selling musical instruments, or websites claiming "We have Alto's QuiltCut 2", and they DON'T!!!! I am the quilting worlds WORST cutter, and will pay anything it takes to get a system that helps me cut more accurately. Does anyone have a website address, or phone number for the company that sells these. I GOTTA see this thing. Thanks!!!
