How about ideas for cleaning INSIDE of oven
#12
Reminds me of the first Thanksgiving my MIL came to dinner. A pin prick hole in the bottom of my disposable aluminum roaster leaked juices and grease which caught on fire in the oven. Extinquished fire with baking soda, but still had to bake pies in the smokey oven. MIL was very gracious about the entire episode. No more disposable roasting pans for me after that!!!

I cheat, I have a lovely lady who comes in twice a year and dismantles the oven, cleans it and puts it back together, whilst entertaining me with the most amusing gossip. Between times I am careful about spillage and cook roasts in roasting bags.

I have a self-cleaning oven.... :) However, for the racks and drip pans, I do the ammonia in a garbage bag trick. After all these years of cleaning ovens, that's still the BEST and CHEAPEST solution!
