I would never have the preciseness (is that a word) if I didn't use my 1/4 inch foot. It is a must have for me. Same with my sid foot. Makes quilting so much easier and fun!

Husqvarna Viking just came out with a walking foot with interchangeable feet, so now I can have my walking foot AND the 1/4" foot, and even a SID foot. It is awesome! I can put it on my Topaz and use the other machines for something else.

When you are doing something like hst's where you are not sewing along the edge of the fabric, do you remove the foot and put a regular foot on? Or can you sew with the blade running ACROSS the fabric?

Yes, you can, just be careful if you are doing bias because it can tend to stretch it a little.

Absolutely! I, too, love mine. It has made a huge HUGE difference in how accurate my seams are. They're still not perfect but they are improving steadily.

I have the 1/4" foot with the guide and find my accuracy is so much improved. Just love it and recommed it to everyone.
My Sew and Vac man took it off of a machine he had for sale on the floor. How's that for accomodating?

The clear view foot has markings for starting and stopping 1/4 in when piecing and has 2 blades to attach. One for the quarter inch and the other for stitch in the sitch. Most of our customers rave about it. It is also just a quarter inch all by it's self.

I have one with the guide. Love it, however be careful to stay just off the guide as opposed to bumping up to it with your fabric otherwise you may not have an accurate 1/4 " seam. I learned this the hard way!
