I have an old fashioned scrappy 9-patch on my bed, and I love it.

Can someone post a pic or two of a king size bed with a neutral blanket and a smaller quilt? I was contemplating doing that (b/c even though I REALLY want a quilt on our bed that's NOT the one I made in college, I can't get going on it), but I can't picture in my head what it would look like.

My son just said to me the other day that all of the beds in the house & the camper have quilts made by me on them except my bed! I think & got burned out making large quilts because my last several have been lap sized.

The largest quilt I've made is for a queen size bed. It was a Christmas present for my son and wife. Because it was so large I used larger squares. I use my single size quilts on my bed. I had a dog and now a cat and they both sleep on my bed. The quilts never seemed any worse for wear.

I keep a sheet over my Quilt cause I sit on my bed alot to watch my TV, I have a store bought one, my parents bought it for my birthday years ago and I just love it and don't want to ruin it.I can't tackle a queen size quit for my bed, my machine doesn't have a long arm and it's to hard to manever it for quilting purposes.

Over the years I've made a bunch of quilts which I rotate on and off our bed and the one in the guest room. I always turn down the top of the one on our bed because DH lies on top to watch TV. Our dog may only get on the bed if there's a special blanket there (although he sneaks once in a while when we're not home).

I tie my large quilts because I do not have a long arm on my machine. I make the ties 6 to 8 inches apart.
