You are very talented. I love your quilt. Sometimes the "just playing around" quilts turn out the best. Its beautifal. You did a great job.

Thank you for all the positive reinforcement you've given me. I do like my 'trashy' quilt and it was fun.
As for those borders. Are you sure you really want to go there?

I cut four strips of fabric 1.5" wide and folded them in half lengthwise for the four flanges. I then cut white strips, 1" wide, and attached them to the raw edges of the four flanges and then, attached the four white strips to each other, being careful to not catch the flange in the seam. Now attach the border to the quilt.
Time for the fun part. You can play around and decide how close you want the 'waves' to be. After that decision is made I would tack the flanges into position. I just ran a quilting line over mine and it looks a little scruffy doing it that way! I think tacking would be more professional looking.

Okay quilters. There you have it.

I originally started thinking of doing this project after watching Jennie Rayment on Simply Quilts. That gal loves to twist and turn her fabric to see what she can accomplish. It's amazing what she can do.

Do I understand you correctly....are they a 3-D effect and not totally sewn down? Thanks.

Yep! Just sewn where the wave changes direction. Perhaps you can see it better in this photo.
