Good for you! I have been on this site for two months gathering information and even have a woman who is mentoring me from out of stay. How awesome is that? Finally, I am at the stage of picking out material.....(fabric.com) and getting ready to have the courage to cut and sew. Actually, I have watched enough tutorials and had enough feedback that i feel totally ready. I am doing an easy pattern for my first time around and believe that all quilts are beautiful....I can't wait to see your first masterpiece!
Good Luck - McBride4362

Welcome from southeast TX -- this site is great -- even an old dog like me learns something each day and I am constantly inspired and amazed by other's projects

Hi Roxa, and welcome to the Party! As a suggestion for a newbie, You could brouse the quilting magazines in a book store, or large grocery store. There are many magazines that are expecially for easy quilts. There will be a small section on "the basics" of quilting skills. However, my number one suggestion would be to go to your local quilt or fabric store (we call them LQS on here) and take a beginner class. If you are not near a LQS, try to find a quilter in your area to help you get started. Most quilters are just bursting with ideas, and would love to have the chance to mentor a newbie!
Best of luck to you!
