    Its really easy to make them. Draw a circle whatever size you want. ( I use a pie plate,pizza pan,or whatever) Fold it in half ,then fold again.Take a ruler and draw a line across the rounded edge from side to side and cut off the rounded portion. Unfold and you got it!

    Thanks Riversong! I have a small center made from a Dresden plate and I wanted to make it into an octagon. I am mathematically challenged so your instructions are great.

    I've got a Santa started. Thanks for the idesa of drawing a circle and tried it on a small piece of paper and it worked, just like you said. Huggies Fay

    I did it too! with me being (well really not anymore) a newbe with the craft of quilting, I really loved to learn how to make this octagon, planning to create a doll quilt for January! Oh and I really am getting better on the borders!!

    Yeah I took out the I can't do it and just started having fun with this .
