There are warning signs all over Lyme Regis, which is a beautiful town and beach near where I live, with the picture of a gull titled "Public Enemy Number One" and asking not to feed them (which of course you shouldn't!) They do keep the streets clean of spilled ice cream and fries though.

And they're just a bird at the end of the day, doing their bird
thing as nature intended! For me who lived in the centre of France, miles from the sea for 5 years, the cry of a gull combined with the smell of sea air is just the BEST thing! :D :D :D
we live by the ocean and our gulls and pretty well behaved and not food aggressive but the west coast of FL you can't eat on their beaches the birds fly right into your face and try to steal your food. Every time I see someone feeding them it irritates me, it's not the correct food for the birds and it makes them a nuisance if you do it much.

You are so very talented. I'm sure you'll win a prize at the quilt show.

OK - I'm whining: It's not fair some people have so much talent and I don't have any!! It is very beautiful and for only your second time doing such a quilt. If you don't win, the judges need to have their eyes checked!! :)

I envy you living near Lyme Regis. I fell in love with it in 1968 on my 1st trip to England. As for seagulls, despite their sometimes unpleasant habits, they are beautiful birds, your husband took a perfect photo, and you interpreted it beautifully.
