This is absolutely my favorite newer song. I like the version on a Gaither album that was done by the two fellows that wrote it. There is a harmonica part that is just haunting.
I didn't find that one... but I did find a wonderful version by the Gaithers on YouTube which is very powerful:

Oh, I did find one with harmonica too!

"Carol of the Bells' is one of my all time favorites. My dad used to sing this and others on Christmas Eve at midnight Mass-accapella. It's a sweet reminder of him

I just ordered the CD for my mom for Christmas. It is Gaither Vocal Band Reunion II. I got it from Christian Book.com. There is a phone number and the girl can find it for you. The CD was $11.95 +$3.99 shipping. Money well spent for a Mom! I had never heard the song before and watched it on youtube and sat here and bawled. Thank you for mentioning to us. Such a beautiful new Christmas song! Edie

Isn't it just a wonderful song, Edie?

I think I'm going to get called on to do a solo in church on Christmas Eve, and I actually started this thread to find out what song would be the most meaningful.

There's a women's choir that usually sings on Christmas Eve, but the director's husband died unexpectedly this summer, and so the holiday just isn't going to be the same for her, and I think that's why the choir is not going to be singing this year.

Can't pick a favorite. I love almost all of them!! I have to say I love the one by BRUCE and Paul McCartney's but mostly the traditional ones.
