That is wonderful but how do you find out how many kids are in the shelter so no one is left out. I need to find me a cause such as yours. God Bless you!

How wonderful. The appreciation must have made you feel good - after all this is the season of giving and goodwill.

I give you my congratulations on being a wonderful person.

It is wonderful that you gave so much and there is nothing more comforting when you are alone in the world than a quilt. For those of you with a few extra dollars, after the xmas sales in early January, there will be lots of children s coats, shoes, socks, mittens, hats etc. Especially at WalMart, Kmart and Target they are reasonable to start with and dirt cheap after those sales. One year I called the shelter for sizes and one of the items purchased was a pair of those pink tennies that flashes when you walk. They tell me the little girl refused to take them off and showed them to everyone that came in. Meant more to me than the $100+ gifts I gave to my own grandchildren. They also need shampoo, lotions, toothpaste, brushes, etc. visit your dollar store. Just think that many of the people there fled with just the clothes on their backs, kids without shoes in their mothers arms. They need everything!

I'm with you Debbie!!!! I don't seem to have enough time to sew as many quilts as I want to but love to give what I can and hope that after the holidays I can do more. It is also a great way to learn new skills.

There is a book called "The Butterfly Effect" by Andy Andrews. He spoke at our Women of Faith conference. The book is about one man we never heard of and how he influenced the lives of people down through history, one after the other, who made some incredible contributions to our country.

No, you may never know what influence you had, but trust me, those quilts will touch the lives of at least one of these children that will perhaps change our current future for the better. That should make you feel extra happy with what you have so generously given.

The abused women's shelter is my pet-charity for quilts, and your note has inspired me to get busy!!! Out of curiosity, did you put labels on all the quilts?
