A plastic knife also cuts fudge with smooth edges.

but be careful to peel the foil away before you cut the pieces, otherwise you'll get little slivers of foil in your fudge--or brownies--I've been cutting brownies for years with my pizza cutter.

I dug around the kitchen and armed with my pizza cutting wheel and a plastic ruler (the kind we used in school), I embarked on cutting 5 pounds of perfect 1" fudge squares :-D. The edges are so clean and the pizza cutter made short work of it. A new tradition born!
Funny you wrote this, I was home for Thanksgiving and my youngest daughter did just this...first time I saw it done and thought it was genius.....glad u thought of it too. I had already forgotten.

a pizza cutter is great on brownies, and any bar cookie you make. I guess we are old fashioned - we use wax paper a lot to line pans with fudge - give a good 6-8 inches on each end and use that for lifting out of the pan.
