I have posted this before - I will NEVER buy another Rowenta. I loved the iron - when it was working - but the service when I had to send it in after a few months was horrendous. It just died again, and I will give it a nice burial rather than buy another Rowenta.

Go to garage sales and buy a really old iron (like my mother used to use). It works great, it gets hot or cool. It's perfect. You have to plug it in but old fashioned works great for me.

I have my Rowenta now for 5 years and never had a problem. I bought the Rowenta from Nancy's Notions for about 80.00.
The old one I had from the 60's lasted 20 years before it died. Best Iron, but heavy.

We have been having a lot of luck with a plan old Black and Decker from Sears ( we even found it at a discount store for less than $30.00)
Good luck !

Just came back from Joanns after returning the Rowenta that wouldn't get hot enough to iron my blouse.

While I was there they had selected Rowenta brands at 50% off so I bit the bullet and bought another one, but different model, looks like a bit of an upgrade on the one I returned. With the 50% and 20% off total, it came to about $2 less than the other one.

Sure hope this one works great and for a long time!

warm quilt hugs, sue in CA

I have a Rowenta that I just love! I bought it at Bed Bath and Beyond with a 20% off coupon and it was way less than $100! I believe it was around $50 with the discount. Happy hunting!

I love my Oliso. got it at JoAnn's with a coupon. It's made in the USA, and have had no issues with it in the two months I've owned it.

My first Rowenta was a reconditioned model and I had it for a long time -- I iron a lot. when that died, I purchased a new one at Sears one day when they had a sale -- it was quite awhile ago, but I think it was about $50 with a coupon or something. It was a Rownta sale, not a Sears sale because Macy's had one for about the price, but Sears was closer to my house.
I love it and it has a lot of steam but goes through water quickly, lots of steam, water--dah. I finaly figured it out.

I bought a Black and Decker iron from price club for $10. It worked great for 20+ years until I dropped it and cracked. It started smoking soon after that. I unplugged it, cut the cord off and tossed it in the trash. Then I bought a Rowenta iron from Costco. It's a piece of junk. Still using it, but it takes forever to heat up. I'm gonna buy a sunbeam next time.
