Pictures from our soldiers in Farah with their quilts!!
#144
I know this thread started some time ago (I've been 'out of touch' for several weeks), but I just had to say thank you for the pictures. Two of the quilts I sent were included in the pictures and it truly means so much to see the end result - happy faces thousands of miles away who I wish with all my heart were not there but home with their families. May we all send prayers their way for their health and safety and a speedy end to this (and ALL) wars. I do believe if women ran governments in this world there would be almost no wars!!

Thank you so much Jan for posting the pictures, and for organizing this whole amazing quilt project!
I have taken your idea (downsized to what I can do), and will be sending quilts to my son in Afganistan to hand out to his buddies.

It's likely that the man with the "dead" eyes is simply dead tired.
Having been in Iraq myself at the height of the insurgency, there were times when we were so tired that if we laid down to take cover from the enemy, we were tempted to take a nap while we were stretched out. (You have to learn to multi-task in that sort of environment.) ;)

What is the deadline for getting them to Jan? Are there any restrictions on colors/patterns? What size should they be? What is the address to ship them to?
