Does anyone else make Barn Quilts

Leonajo, I have really wanted to get this started here in Mo.I am from OHIO & they are all over there & in W. Va. I have talked to the gals at the LQS & told them we need to get it started . We have Barn Trails to drive on in Ohio. You go to the Tourist Info place & they will give you the places where the barns are with info of the barn & the quilt. Very nice drive for a day.
Where are you here in Mo.? I am near West Plains. We just had a 60 x40 Gabrel roof barn built 2 yrs. ago. It is black with a copper roof. We have been busy building our log home & haven't gotten the quilt up there yet. Can hardly wait to do it. I will use 2 sheets of the 4x8 to make it 8 x 8. I have that big of an area at the peak. Only thing is you won't be able to see it really well from the road. We set about 1/4 mile back.Only good thing is that when I come up over the hill on the drive way (lane) That would be the first thing I woul,d see. This would suit me just fine. Let's see if we can get a Barn Trail going here in this great state that has so many barns.

There are Barn Quilts up on barns all over around us...today I saw one on a garage. My wife and I have planned to make one in the spring for our 10x10 ft garden tool shed..one side is visible to the road and a 4x4 ft quilt will be perfect on the side...If the neighbors don't like it...there are other things to look at, they can turn their heads...lol

I want to do one for my barn...just deciding on which one is the trick. Living on a farm, I have a full-sized barn so I guess I'll need to put two sheets of plywood together to get the size right. Not sure how to hang it up there either - I wonder if the bucket on the tractor can go up high enough?
I just suggested to my DMIL today that we paint a quilt block on her garage door...it currently has a deer, skunk and squirrel painted on it (and we all hate it!).

Here is a site that you may be interested in too. http://www.cre8tivequilter.blogspot.com/
She has pictures of different barn blocks of Wisconsin. She is doing a block a week with them in fabric. She has about 48 or 49 posted as of now.
I started doing them when she started and some of them are just beautiful!

Where I live in Wisconsin, Barn Quilts are popular, in the county I live, there are approx. 100 8X8 foot blocks up on barns. They promote barn tours during the summer months. A local quilt store has a block of the month club going, with blocks from various barns in the county.

DJRustic, I live just north of Springfield ,Mo. Would love to get something going. Any ideas? Although lots of people seem interested no one has the time? I do have a large barn that I could mount one. U would have to have someone with a lift or line truck to help mount the big ones, as they r very heavy.
