Hi, and welcome from Ontario. I haven't seen a quilt made from neckties, but I have seen some beautiful, dressy vests from silk ties. Will be watching to see what the suggestions are, and the final product!

Qbee, so glad you looked these up. All are beautiful, but those first two are just awesome!

I had 2 tie quilts commissioned from me. I did a quilt as you go log cabin. I used polyester shantung for the light part of the "cabin". I choose quilt as you go because I did not want to have to deal with quilting the silky stuff. They were so pretty. If you aren't familiar with quilt as you go yet, you can google it. Reminds me I don' t have pics of them. I need to fix that.

Welcome to You from me in Central California, there are a lot of web sights that can help you, just go to your search engine and type in free quilting instructions and you can check them all out to see whats up, or you can contact your LQS to see what classes they offer, or maybe even your local Adult school

Jane Brocket used necktie material in a quilt in her Book released in August...The Gentle Art of Quilting...might just take a peek at the book at the store or library.
