I can answer one of your questions :D
The BOM is for YOU to follow along but you are encouraged to make each block "your own" so you can certainly embellish the block any way you want. After all....since this is NOT a swap, you are making blocks for YOU so make them the way YOU want to :D
As far as your paper piece question, I don't know that you can make the block without paper piece?? I do know that I have never done it either but am hoping to use the BOM to make myself learn new things so give it a try! Use some really old fabric to practice some easy patterns first. Here is a Youtube video that might help:

Thank you, Patti

OK, I'm game. I have not done any paper piecing for a couple of years. Time to try again. My problem will be personalizing the block - too many ideas!

Hi everyone, I am tired of sitting on the side lines watching you all have just way too much fun with the BOM. I want to join this one as I always wanted to do houses. But I can't post anything because I don't have a camera. Hope that is all right.
So I have printed the pattern and in my spare time (ha ha) I will start in on the fun. I work full time, so have to wait until the weekend to start my first block. Just love seeing all your blocks and the different colors chosen, I hope I live up to you all.

I start stitching several stitches (say 1/4") before and after the seam I'm sewing. That way my seam is covered by the next fabric/seam.

Hope that helps.

I am so confused about this web site. Don't know where to post what!!!!!!!!!!!! I sent a pic of my church block and didn't appear anywhere. Then I sent another message about my confusion but haven't gotten an answer back. Could someone please explain where to post your block and where to see other blocks that others have made.
Thank you. I really want to do this.
