Dreamer, and anyone else who was wondering, this webpage has a nice sidewinder blurb, http://www.anitasarts.com/wrights-si...der-p-298.html

Of course they want you to buy it from them, but Joanne's, Walmart, etc, all carry it and have them on sale. I only paid $12 for mine on sale. Joannes has a pink one right now! Mine is a white.

Seam Ripper--I "misplaced" mine--had to try and pick apart a seam with a needle--gave up, went out and got the Fons and Porter ergonomic one--it's pretty cool :D

Love my sidewinder. It is the first thing I set up next to my machine. I can wind bobbins while I sew so there is always one ready. I love it.

My Must Have toys are:
the Black Handle Scissors--yep, The Scissors No One May Touch, under penalty of death or worse,
a hem gauge I've had for a zillion years (metal, 6", has red slider, hmm, says JCPenney Handee Gauge--how old must that be??),
equally old seam ripper,
and an artist paint brush (1/2" ox hair) that I use to brush out the feed dogs, bobbin case, etc. It's the greatest thing. . . I've had it so long that the handle has a really pretty patina to it now.

A couple of days ago I put Sidewinder on my Dear Santa list. Glad to hear it works!

I love my little thread snippers. I bought them years ago for cross stitch and they have happily transferred to quilting.

apart from the obvious choices... I love my telescopic magnetic thingy (looks like an antenna). Greatest invention ever for finding pins under the table, or even the scissors.

Now if I could keep my son from thinking it was a toy that would be great
