How many machines do you own?
#121
My 1st machine in 1974 was a Brother. My 2nd machine in 1996 was a Pfaff tipmaster 6120 (secondhand) My present machine in 2008 is a Pfaff GrandQuilter (machine only.) Have all three but use GrandQuilter only.

I have 3 and yes I switch back and forth on two of them and have my first machine as a back up in case one goes down. I would like more but DH doesn't understand why at this time yet. Still working on that one.

3 treadles, 1 handcramk (found in an antique shop in Ireland and dragged home),26 stitch Kenmore(my workhorse),1 Spartan (not working?), a 301, 401, featherweight, an antique rough finish singer (can't see model #),White heavy duty zig zag, white speedylock serger (worn down), Janome 1600 DBX, Viking Designer SE,Singer 15 91, and my latest addition is a 5 thread coverstitch Consew. Gave away my Kenmore 24 stitch. Like the Rocketeer, but I think this collection is enough for this lifetime.

I have 5 machines. We own two houses, one in town and one in the mountains so I have 2 sewing studio's. I have two machines at each place. Pfaff's and 2 old singers, and I have a Featherweight for taking to classes. The older machines just straight stitch but can sew thru jeans and leather, not that I do that kind of sewing, you understand. Just quilting, for me. Jan

In the middle of a project, yes,it would be nice to have a back-up to goto. But then, life is what it is and I am grateful for my one machine.
