Help ease my mind, please? What do you think I should do? :?
I have made lots of quilts where I purchased fabric as I went along. The spontaneity of it is fun, and I have always liked the results. The worst that can happen is you wind up with a few orphan blocks, which you can use somewhere else. So I say, go for it. Just imagining a quilt with lots of reds sounds wonderful. And if you don't like it, send it to me.

Veronica, I think FQ would be easiest to work with.

Candi, I do want to make time this weekend to look at other star quilts. I've seen some quilts with black sashing and borders and they were stunning! Not sure if that is the way I would go but just a thought.

Stephanie, I do looovve red! I think it would be a neat study in using one color but different patterns and textures. Maybe that is the way I'll go.

Thanks for all your input. I just needed some reassuring!

Can't wait to start with the stars! Did last year's BOM, and it was real fun.

It seems like time is dragging by, but I guess we shouldn't wish our lives away. Just think, next week at this time we'll be on our way. Yeah!

Welcome to our group faithsmama. We will have fun. Stars are mainly half square triangles, so by the end of the year we should all be pros at making hst's.
