such a sew and sew, what is raw edge aplique and is thread painting like a satin stitch? thanks Pat P

You should go sell those in Key West, Fl! They have chickens everywhere there, in the streets, outdoor cafes,yards.....all wandering free! Sometimes even sitting in the trees above your table!

Raw edge applique is cutting out pieces and using an iron on glue such as heat and bond or steam a seam lite, or in my case is used Misty Fuse which is extremely lite and doesn't get stiff. Someone asked what thread painting is? here is a picture of another project that shows some thread painting. Basicly it's doing alot of thread work to enhance the picture or block, sometimes using decorative thread.

Your chickens look so awesome...love the way applique looks but want nothing to do with "doing it" myself...these are really nice!!

your work is beautiful. when you use the raw edge is it more for decorative or does it withstand the washing on a quilt? I am so glad you showed pictures of your thread painting. It is beautiful and so interesting in a picture. Now I want to try it!
