Karen,
When you work with directional pattern fabric you have to turn the blocks to make them look right. I had the same problem when I did my 1st block. If the pattern doesnt have a direction, it is no problem.

Thanks so much patti! The thing is it came up 1/8 to 1/4" to short..hmmm used the 1/4" foot. I am going to take them apart and do it by hand to see if they come out the correct size.
If they do then I will know that the foot don't work right with this machine. She is a 1916 and just might not be able to use the foot.

Karen, can you move the needle about 3-4 clicks to the right? That should give you the right size then. I have to move my Janome from 3.5 to 4.2 to get the 12.5 unfinished block

Deb she is such old lady there is no way to move her needle. But it was a good thought! I will have to try to get my newest singer in the shop and fixed, or just do them by hand. Not a biggy.

I think you forgot the scant 1/4" part of the instructions. That means sew it just on the other side of the 1/4" mark. When I did that everything came out perfect.

Bummer for me! I thought I had enough fabric to make all 12 blocks. But alas...I only have enough for 10. Guess I'll have to start all over and get other fabrics. So close!!
