What a precious and loving gift you received. Your Grandma was surely a special person. Your daughter is lovely and the jacket is a work or art. Enjoy these gifts and I love the idea of names on the quilt to be. Your mom was so thoughtful with the present of tissues. Bless you and yours.

You are truly blessed. I never had a "grandma". They both died before I was born. One of them sewed beautifully but only clothes. I am the first quilter in my family. Now that I am a great-grandmother, I realize how much I missed. Enjoy your treasure and treasure your memories.

I bet your grandmother is smiling, knowing you received these items. I too lost my grandmother 7 yrs ago this month. Good luck in your quest.

Thank you for sharing your story. My mom was a quilter and several years after she passed away I came across a box of UFOs. Among them crazy quilt squares she had made. I had a new son by then and made a quilt for him so he would have something of the grandmother he never knew. I still have a box of 4" denim squares she had appliqued and hand embroidered, along with a picture of the coverlet she intended to make. It's on my "to do" list. It's comforting to work on something begun by a loved one who is no longer here. Makes you feel like they really are still with us.

Though my legacy will never be as full of treasures as your grandma left, I pray the memories are such that my grandchildren speak of me with such love. What a beautiful Christmas story.

thans for sharing your story. My grandma taught me how to sew many years ago.I received a few of her things when she passed away. I cherish a few pieces of cardboard (patterns) more than anything. Can't wait to see the quilt when it is finished. What a keepsake.WOW......

Pass the tissues, please! What a wonderful gift, not only the quilt blocks, etc., but also the gift of a special grandmother. And by the way, you have such beautiful children!
