I live in a country town of about $25,000 and we are lucky enough to have three quilt shops plus a shop that buys liquidated stock from everywhere - so if you go in there you can sometimes have a real find.

We only have a walmart that is about 2 miles from me. All the quilt shops are 35-40 miles+ away. I try to visit several in a day when I go.

I live within a mile of a LQS and a Walmart. I do not drive, so unless I have a driver to reach the others (15 miles or more), I just ride my bike to them.

One quilt shop and JoAnn's within 10 minutes. Another quilt shop about 30 minutes away. Everything else is over 1.5 hours away.

WM is about 7 minutes away, JA about 11 min. and the LQS perhaps 12 min; going north three/four great LQS are perhaps 45 min away along with JA; going south several LQS and one huge JA. I would really love to give all my business to the closest quilt shop, but they just don't seem to care. Have to struggle to get classes and the new fabric is not there.

You are very lucky to have that many, I think I have about 5 within 20 miles.

My sister and I are driving about 7 hours to come to your fair city to look at fabric stores this weekend. I can hardly wait to get there. I have pouring over my books and magazines for the last 2 weeks just trying to get some kind of idea of what I want to sew next. You are so fortunate to have so many choices so close. We have a small Joanns and that is it. Anything else and you have to drive about an hour to shop.
