If I tell you what I love.... it would be greens. But if you look at my stash..... the blue box is full and overflowing while the other colors are neat and orderly in their boxes.

I love blue, but most of my quilts are bold colors. I made a couple of Sweetie Pie quilts, thought they needed to be soft colors, so I used blues in one and greens in the other

for my own quilting, it's not so much the actual color, as it is the Look. I love to work with background fabrics. And I'm drawn to two-color quilts. Could be because I don't trust my own sense of color, and reducing the odds gives me a better chance of liking what I'm doing? I enjoy scrappy quilts, so long as the background carries the load. When I see a SpecTacular quilt (which is everyday on this board), I'm not blown away by the piecing - I'm left in awe by the color. Choosing Color is the real gift. Everything else can be learned. Color is where true quilting talent lies. (Everyone can sing; god-given talent is all that lies between me and Barbra.)

So, I enjoy quilts where my color choices are simple ones. If I drift away from that, I end up staring at a jumble of color and shaking my head at the mess of it. heh-heh

This will probably sound weird, but I like white. I think white makes the colors pop more. Of course, if you're doing a quilt with all neutral colors it might not work as well. But, I think that bright colors stand out more next to white fabric. Although, I've seen some awfully nice looking quilts on this board where the colors stand out against black or dark blue....hmmmm.

Colors seem to change for me every time I make a quilt. Very seldom have a color I really can't live without. I do love scrap quilts and they seem to go in any room.

Love browns, any earth tones and peach and green together. Every time I go to a quilt shop I gravitate to the peach colored fabrics. But---just love fabric so any color will do sometimes!! Thanks for asking.
