I have not been able to work in about 2 years. I was not to worried about it, until my husband was getting his hours cut. I hope any day now that I will be approved for disability.

Thanks everyone ! I know what you mean, I never thought about much of anything, except going to work the next day. Then, one thing happens, then another, then your a caretaker, dealing with SS and parents coverage, parents home & stuff in it. Way more than I ever expected in life. I was the baby in the family, guess I thought the older sibs would be the ones to take care or have the answers. Unfortunately one brother passed away suddenly and the other had his leg amputated, while in the mean time Mother was diagnosed with brain cancer...out of the blue and my Dad was in the nursing home. I could've never imagined that Mother would die first, but she did, within 6 months. She went to the hospital, had brain surgery, rehab and never came back home. Without God, I know I couldn't survive this again...it's just too much

I am so happy for you. At least you'll have a steady amount coming in each month that you can count on.

I, too, know how difficult it is to get approved for disability. Hope things begin to look up for you now.

I also know about the disability "horror" our government put sick and disabled through as I am a disabled person also. They automatically deny all claims unless you know someone in the office. You can't give up! They hope they have degraded and upset you so much by calling you a liar, and trying to make you feel you are stealing by trying to collect your disability insurance benefits-you have paid for-they hope you stop bothering them. I had a nurse go and try to get me some help with those people-so I could take a medication for my condition, and they told her I should either be cured or dead by this point!!!I got help from my senator and he immediately got me back benefits they owed me too. Please write to your senators and congressmen until they are sick of heraring from you. When you try to get benefits on your own, they think you are unworthy of their time.I am happy you are finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel! Good luck!!

Took me longer (9 years) to get the doctors to believe me,that I had just pain, than it did SSI . working 4 /12hour shifts a week with pain so bad that I could hardly think straight . But fibromyalgia at that time was not on their list of disablities. But carpal tunnel
was...crazy medical world we have to deal with.
