Hi

I have a dumb question!!! After you make the dryer squares, do you still use batting or do you just use fabric to make a
backing? Am interested in making possibly bureau top
coverings.

Thanks. Victoria

It's not a dumb question, Victoria. I was wondering the same thing. I've never used this method before.

Not a dumb question at all! I just made a bureau top and used some fleece as "batting". It was thinner than batting but provided a bit of body. If you wanted something even thinner and more "drapey", I imagine you could just use backing material. These squares (or rectangles as the link shows) are so easy to do when I have just a few minutes to sew :-)

Great idea but what happens to the dryer sheets when you wash your quilt???? I make scrap quilts mostly to give to kids and they DO get washed a lot.
Thanks for sharing tho, Kutnso

Regarding those dryer sheets. Probably not a good idea to use in quilts as many people have allergies. I, for one, am very sensitive to those types of things and using them for a quilt could set me up for an allergic reaction.
