I would only make quilts for charitys. There you will know they are appreciated. Your work is excellent.

"Or maybe stop picking the wrong people to make quilts for. "

I think you have your answer there. Make something you really like for yourself.

Don't let people use you. You need to have more self esteam and don't give your quilts to anyone else. They need to be good to you. You deserve it. Remember that. It took me a long time to decide I was OK.

I don't think your quilting is cursed. I mean, I could see if you said, "I gave someone a quilt, and the next day, they did X." And that happened 5 times in a row.

What you're describing doesn't have anything to do with the quilts - things are happening months & years later! The underlying issue seems to be the people in your life, who just so happen to have been recipients of your quilts.

So... stop making quilts for people who don't deserve them. As to the rest... I think other people have said lots. :)

I don't think it's the quilts. You need to look at your relationships and see why you are drawn to people who disrespect you. Don't blame the quilts -- blame the people. Why don't you just make yourself a quilt?

Quilted Dove: Good advice, sweet quilter. When "others" disappoint us, we forget the many others still standing in the light of love and friendship.

Well you made the quilts as a gesture of love and giving of yourself. Maybe back off that for a while and just make quilts for yourself. Make a nice big stack of them for just YOU. I think it's more about outgrowing your bad friends than anything to do with a curse.

And there are always worthy causes to donate a quilt to...

Bless you V -- I can identify with your predicament. We have to learn to value ourselves before anyone else does. Make quilts for charity or even better, go do some volunteering. There are several assisted living places near me who are always asking for people to come visit.

There are a million people out there who need you and won't use you -- and will help you find your true worth!

Good luck -- you are not alone. I have worn these shoes too!
