When I go to the nursing home to see DH, I'll take my quilting with me and hand quilt. It's very relaxing and I get alot of sewing done plus getting ideas from the other residents there.

Me too! I don't have a hand stitching project going right now, and it's driving me a little crazy. I need to take the time to get a project together, put it in my little basket so it's ready to go whenever I am...

I machine piece and hand quilt. It is slow going but I like the results much better than machine quilting. I have machine quilted a couple of quilts to keep in the camper. I just couldn't take a hand quilted quilt with me camping.

I did many hand quilting demonstrations on quilt shows and craft fairs here in Germany and the visitors were always very interested. They asked many questions about the craft, they looked on my working hand for a long time and we wonderful conversations. I love demonstration more than teaching to be honest!
Maybe you have the opportunity to visit a fair or a quilt show and watch somebody quilting there?

I have a friend who took a hand quilting class, and learned a lot about how to do it, by watching and practicing. I myself have a funny old mental program that says "Just do it" and could probably use a class too!

I am a handquilter. I just finished a double bed size quilt that will be raffled off to benefit the local Linus Chapter. This is the third one I have done for them. Someone else provided the tops. I do machine piece and applique if I am making the actual quilt. My favorite project is wholecloth or a preprinted panel that I can hand quilt. I do make an average of 10 Linus Quilts a month. They are either completely machine made or they are fleece throws which I have chrocheted a decorative edging around. I just invested in a Accucut Baby Go. I am looking forward to making a lot of Linus quilts with cute appliques using the dies to cut out fusable shapes. I also have two embroidery machines and lots of great software for them. Again my Linus quilts will benefit.
