Absolutely worth it. It is a fabulous machine. You will love it. Berninas are my very favorite machines.

If you have a place in your town that repairs sewing machines they maybe able to sell you a used cord of order you a new plug.I bought a singer sewing machine this summer for $5.00 but it didn't have a cord. So I went to where I have my machines cleaned and he sold me a used cord for $15.00.

Yes, definitely a keeper. I bought a Bernina 830, its forerunner.

i worked at a bernina/fabric store..and my thought is all those ladies that had a bernina 930 would just as soon die than give it up..they of course have other machines, newer ones but lol please hold onto that one...good luck

I inherited a 930 last year and it is Great!!!!. Please do have it serviced and get your 1/4 foot or that is not necessary as you can move the needle and regular foot to 1/4 inch. I have sewn consistently on it since I got it even though I have other machines and love it. Find the foot control and knee lift and you are in business. Lucky you and yes it is a solid machine and I hope it has been well cared for and loved.

Oh yeah, it is worth it---I have a 930 and it is the one machine that I will not replace or trade in----I learned to quilt on it---It is so sturdy and also very easy to service---

The demand is still great for these machines and I've seen them sell on Ebay for as much as $1200 if all the original parts are there. Enjoy using it---

Yes, I do about all of my quilting on a 930, it was bought in 1984, and preforms better than a Brother and Baby Lock that I have. The lady that cleans it yearly, told me I have a special peach.

You are a lucky girl. Have it serviced. Bernina will not sell parts to servicemen so I have been told. I bought an 830 in 1975. It was stolen in 1983. Insurance company replaced it with an 1130 which I hate for quilting and piecing. A few months later they came out with a total mechanical 1030 which I bought and still have. It is wonderful. In just a few months though they made the 1030 part computerized and I don't like it at all. From then on it was computerized and eventho they were heavy they lost it as far as I am concerned. If you have to get a cord on ebay, do. Any good repairman can clean it and get it purring. I have two Brothers, one an expensive embroidery machine - no comparison.

Keep it! I have an old 830 and a 1130. There is a yahoo group for lovers of the old Bernina thirty somethings. There are several certified Bernina Techs who are members along with many devotees who are extremely knowledgeable about resources. If you have to spend a $100 for a power cord, it will likely be worth it.
