Now I know I have a long way to go to be a good (not just beginning mediocre hand quilter. HQ is my fav and you have proven how beautiful it is...Working on black is hard. I'd be blind by now.

Borntoquilt, I love your quilting. I number years ago I made a deal with an artist (watercolor painting) friend. We traded our 'art work'. I made an Amish (all solid color) with black background. The challenge was quilting the black background. I found I could only do it in the daylight. He did a watercolor of flowers setting on a patchwork quilt.
Hand quilting is still my favorite method to finish off my projects. The only ones I get machine quilted are those for the small grandchildren or those that will be laundered a great deal. Keep up your beautiful hand quilting.

Beautiful quilt and I loved the close up picture of your hand quilting! I've done some hand-quilting on a wall hanging and a few baby quilts and I love doing it. However, due to working full-time and elderly parents, I needed to finish projects quicker as the grandchildren started coming, so I tried my hand at machine quilting. I can't get too creative yet - free motion is still light years away for anything I would let anyone see. HA!

My upmost respect for your hand quilting. It restores my faith that the original techniques aren't completly gone!
