I WILL HAVE A TIN LIZZIE IN MY FRONT ROOM!!
Lizzie Stitch and all.

AND since I just got laid off today, I will have plenty of time to practice.

I just wanted to share this will all of my QB friends.

Any tips or books that are recommended would be great. i bought a large dry erase board today so i can practice drawing.

Disclaimer:
Layoff for me is a good thing, it is our slow time and happens every year. So don't worry, I am fortunate not unfortunate like so many others. Amen.
Get ready cause it ain't easy to do. I was reading one of my books about freemotion quilting & it said it takes a year of practice to get it perfected. I have been working on mine & it is really giving me the blues. I spend more time rethreading needles because the thread keeps shredding.

Congratulations!! You'll love your Lizzie.
I have only one piece of advice.
Don't let frustration get to you.
There is a learning curve for using a long arm even for seasoned quilters. Just stock up on needles, and different kinds of thread, and play with the speeds, and just practise. It takes a while for a couple to become good dance partners.
