I don't see anything wrong with it. I think it's beautiful and I love the colors. You could always send it to me....LOL

I LOVE IT! It will be a beautiful quilt. Maybe if you just keep telling yourself it is for your sister and she loves it - it might get easier to work with. You might even grow to like it after you do a few blocks. :-) Or do a set number of blocks a day and set it aside until the next day. You'd probably finish it before you realize it.

Marcia, you're right. I did a little more manipulation and here's a new version - just the corners changed.

Oh, cat, that is great. I was sitting here trying to figure
out how to put it into Quilt Pro and do what I was suggesting,
but you did it exactly like what I was thinking. How would
a gold in the place of the dark purple in the circles look? You know, kind of a yellow gold? It might stand out too much, but to me, it would pop even more. However, I love what you did. How on earth did you get the block straight enough in photoshop to put it into a quilt? I tried cropping and straightening the block, but couldn't get it straight enough.
Have a Great Day!
Marcia

I am with your sister, love it. You might like it better when there are more blocks. Good luck.

For what it's worth, I like it too!

Better than this happening: my mom designed and picked out the fabrics for a bear paw quilt... I made it for her... then she decided she didn't like it, once it was done.

I thought it was pretty, so I kept it for myself. Still not easy to stay cool-headed about that one!!

Marcia, I put the original photo into photoshop and then I "skewed" it until it was perfectly square. Then it was just copy and paste.

I'm not sure about gold, I was just working within the parameters of the fabric she's already got. I kinda think gold would overpower the rest. Navy blue (a lighter than almost black) would look well with these colors. That's what I used in my batik Seminole patchwork jacket

I looked the Burn's book up online and I did't like the pattern as she did it in red, white and black. What you did though is stunning in my view, something I would love to have.

Have you looked at the block through a door viewer? You might see a bit of what so many of us appreciate.
