Schools closed here for the second day, lots of businesses closed, city & county offices closed. Just reopened I-70, was closed from KC to St. Louis. Wow, what a snow!

Last night, 2-1, they closed I-70 from border to border. I-70 runs across the middle of the state. Modot said it was because of the white out conditions. They set up emergency shelters along the way.

Yes, what a nice surprise this morning when Elmira City closed for the day. And from the forecast, may be off tomorrow as well! That will leave us with only one more 'snow day' as we had to use one for the day when it was -18 degrees a couple of weeks ago.
As I posted on another thread, the sleet started around 12:30am. However, the storm went just under us without leaving any more snow (supposed to get up to 12 inches in some places) and the roads are clear, but slow going more on the side of caution than hinderance. Still, gives me another day to sew!

Here in Michigan...schools closed ...no mail...no buses fast food places closed...some store closed....and it's still snowing and blowing. In our courtyard we have a 12ft drift...looks like a big wave.

I'm in the nothern Finger Lakes and we were open yesterday--closed last night for today, but the blizzard didn't really come!! Hubby said driving yesterday was much worse than today. He followed me in yesterday and I was slipping all over. He added sand bags to the van.
