Here is a pic of my batiks for AOTH. It's getting darker here as the sun has decided to let the snow clouds take over the sky!

I love a scrappy look - even with batiks. This will be scrappy with this many batiks.

Well, off to the hotel (Hampton Inn) for a long over-due shower and dinner! We are getting a room for 2 nights so we can shower, etc. I even have a box of dishes that need washing. I had forgotten what you need water for!

Really grated on me to buy water to flush! Also got 24 small bottles of water for teeth brushing, pill taking...all those little things we do every day without giving it much thought.

Kathy, your fabrics look so yummy.
Sorry you have to go someplace else to do the necessaries. We are not pioneers anymore! You can take your laptop with you and keep up with everybody, but a sewing machine is more difficult.
Hurry up warm and get here quick!

Well, that looks familiar, but when I had my colors done, they covered up your hair and went strictly by your skin tone. Your hair color was NOT part of determining your season. And they actually held colors against you so you could see the effect of each on your skin. I don't think that online could possibly duplicate that.

I am straight Autumn, which doesn't surprise me, I do love oranges, greens, browns and yellows, love fall colors, but really there isn't a color I don't like, well, except white maybe.
Well I am Spring, torquoise, watermelon and salmon, never tried salmon colourway before, now what the heck would watermelon colour be? I am at a lose here. Help!! i do like blues all colours but not tried that salmon colour way, oh heck got to buy something just to see if it works LOL

Ok, I don't believe it is scientific, lol, and I am sure the test you are talking about is more accurate, I'd love to have it done one day.

Right now, we are some of the lucky ones. We have heat & lights - just no water. I think I have figured out what's frozen - the pipes leading either to or from the water softener. It's fairly new & I don't know if they wrapped heat tape on it when installing it. DH was home, not me. It sits out back against the house in a galvanized aluminium box which has a small amount of insulation, but I'm not sure if it's enough for this severe cold. Can't get to where the pipes are as box is 4+ feet high with a lid on top. Pipes are at the bottom. We just have to wait it out. At least I made reservations at a really nice hotel. We won't be staying over night - just get things cleaned up & come back here! $114.00/night for a shower.

Have to go back to work tomorrow.

Can't wait to cut into those batiks, but I have 2 quilts to finish before I can even think aboutdoing anything else.

The top for the Booze quilt is finished. I have the 3 layers on the table, but just didn't feel like starting to pin it. Will get 'er done this weekend. Then I have another top ready to be layered, basted & quilted. Sure wish I had the Avante 18 that I want so badly!

Kathy, love that selection.

It is funny about the color test. According to this one online, I am a spring - what a bunch of hooey. I am a lot of things but spring is not one of them. I think I am firmly planted in Fall but I can lean in either of the adjoining seasons for a quick departure. Lavender (summer) looks good on me, as does black (winter), but I am best in greens and browns - even orange.

Mad, I'm not so sure about the online thing, (see my earlier post), but according to the person who did mine, there is usually some cross-over between Autumn & Spring, and between Winter and Summer. But like I said, I have deep reservations about the validity of an online determination.
