I vote for the plain border also, maybe in the kinda like cranberry color. It is pretty. I love it!!!!

I like it how it is, but I solid would frame it nicely.

What a nice job! If you have enough of any of the fabrics you used, you could certainly add it but I don't think you have to. Looks great the way it is.

I'm not a big fan of solid borders, especially if the quilt center doesn't have much solid. I don't think the quilt "needs" a border, unless you want it to be bigger.

It is a beautiful quilt, and the sashing is a work of genius. It gives the quilt a unique look, in a very good way.

Do you usually do a inner and outer border on quilts. I have a quilt time that is ready for borders or not- just wondered what everyone else does

I think another border the same as the sashing, then a 1/2" binding int - if you have enough, the eggplant coloured square in the upper right and lower right corners - or if there's not enough left a plain solid or other print (maybe finer) same colours or as close as possible. Thanks for asking, it's fun to muse about other quilters work, somehow it's easier to have a fresh perspective on it

solid border on this one it won't take away from the block. The one you chose is nice but you don't see the blocks. How about black, white, red, blue hope this helps....

Whoa, genius, I am blushing. I wanted the sashing to be light and airy and to have flowers in it as do all the other materials in this quilt. Thanks. I have 'auditioned' every color from my stash for the border and have finally settled on a medium blue.
Will post new pic when I get it on. Thanks everyone.

I usually do 2 or more borders. On this one I consider the flowers the first border and am going to add a medium blue border.
