Okay - I choose something floral - it is from Moda's Collection for a Cause heritage range...

I spent nearly 2 hours at the quilt shop with my 4 year old in tow and kept coming back to this fabric - I was looking at oriental and batik but the orientals I felt were too dark and the batiks were too pink. After going back and forth I decided on the fabric I loved most. Now I am going to start cutting!!!! Woo Hoo!

Ooooo! Pretty! I do like your choice. You did good!

I have my "quilt-in-a-box" and ready to go now. Did all the slicing and dicing and finished the marking this morning. Come on New Years Day!

I work New Years day and I am unable to go out and buy the fabric for the mystery quilt right now, but I sure wish I was doing it! You gals make it sound like such fun and I am bummed I won't be able to participate.

I have just finished cutting it all out and I think those 6.5" x 60" will be the borders - I cut 4, it said in the instructions. I am thinking about the "fan" reference- the mystery is called a "BIG FAN" I wonder if we will be making a fan type block... and the bias tape or ric rac will be create a stain glass effect - both techniques I havent tried before. Yes - it is exciting!!!!

I bought extra so I would have left overs so can't comment on this. Sorry.

Tiffany, how unfair that someone expects you to work when you should be playing with us! I know, Mama always said, "Life's not fair!" but it's just not right! We'll be missing you!

Am I reading the quiltville post correctly that the mystery will start today and continue on for several weeks? I'm going to go check it out and perhaps start it after the new year.

23 more hours! Whoopee!!

After reading the instructions at the end about the bias; I read that it will be raw edge so I am going to make mine now so that it will have finished edges. I feel my fabric is too elegant to have raw edges. That sure sounds snootie....I promise I am far from that! Barefoot, jeans and T-Shirt are my style.
