Haven't found the foldable ones...only coins.
If I did find a bill, I definitely would iron it...ironing board is also set up and ready to go in a second.
But you just gave me an idea....considering what's on the "paper" money these day....cocaine anyone? a good wash and spin might be worth the effort.

When I find bills in the laundry, I iron them. The ironing board is always set up, takes a second to turn the iron on, and I really dislike folded or crinkled bills in my bill fold (I'm also anal about keeping the denominations in order and all the presidents heads must be facing up).
I don't iron them but I like them in denomination order and presidents heads up.
Who among my quilting friends with hot irons at the ready iron crinkled money?

I am with you in having all my bills face forward and separated by denominations. I blame the fact that I worked at a school and had to count school lunch money for monthly deposits. When my kids were growing up the policy was that whoever did the laundry got the cash they found in the laundry. I never ironed it, but it is a nice touch!!

One of my late Uncles was very fastidious and washed and ironed his paper money EVERY night. I remember seeing bills hung over a line in his basement, dripping!! His explaination?? Money is filthy!! His wife, my favorite Aunt, used to save all the 'pocket money' from the laundry of her 3 sons so I could have some cash to do my Christmas shopping with when I was a kid..there was no such thing as an allowance at our home or it was called having a roof and food   One year I remember getting $14 and change...big money in the '60s :-D Anyway, really gross bills will get washed with dish soap and laid out to dry at my house now..ironed if I need to get them tucked away quickly. Never thought to starch bills I'm giving as gifts....nice tip!!
