Very happy with my Brother Innovis 1500D .
The day I bought it I upgraded about 50 yrs from the other
machine. Don't use embroidery the most but this machine
has changed my life. Bought lots of feet & accessories too.
Own a Featherweight and a treadle coming in April.

I have a Viking Designer II. I wouldn't trade it. Use it all the time and bounce between quilting and embroidering. Sometimes combining the two. I was probably about your age when I bought mine. Best decision ever.

I have a Brother Quattro and use it quite a bit. Depending on the emb design, I'll sew on my Janome 6500 while the Brother does its thing. I like the bigger hoops. My first emb machine only had a 4 X 4 hoop. Good luck with whichever brand you choose. Machine embroidery is a lot of fun and I think you'll enjoy it.

I have a Brother's Innovis 950D which is a great regular sewing machine with an embroidery attachment and I love it. I can use it for anything I want to do.

I have a Viking Designer SE LE and I love it. I bought it used for about half the price of the new. If you buy through a dealer, you get the whole 20 year warranty and you don't if you buy from an individual. I have a friend that used 3 Singers to embroider.

I have a Viking Diamond with 4D software, the majestic hoop, lots of extra feet, carrying cases, etc. that I need to sell for personal reasons.
I have more than $13K invested in this machine and would like to sell it for $7K.....will consider all offers.
If you know someone interested, please feel free to share this info.
