Deb - You're actually lucky to have the rooms to have this mess in! You should see my house right now when I'm working on things. Can't sew in sunroom toooooo cold so everything has had to come inside. Its divided between family room, living room and dining room (and yes still lots of stuff in sunroom!) with containers of fabric in huge plastic bins in basement. OMG I had thread, snipets, rulers, and everything else everywhere! Not cutting at this time so living room, which was dumping room to sunroom, and FR have been cleaned-up.
In fact, yesterday was the day that I did clean LR and FR. Couldn't handle anymore. Dining room, sunroom and basement still a diaster - OH WELL!! Life will go on. :-D
Tomorrow after quick trip to JoAnn's for their sale  , I'll hopefully be able to get into sunroom (suppose to be sort of warm) and start (and boy do I mean just start) organizing in there.
I will admit though, your house could definitely be a good shopping trip!! To bad soooo far away!!!

I had to send these picture of your sewing room to my family. They are going to think someone put pictures of my sewing room up on the internet. LOL

Deb, my first thought was she is an artist! Like you said, taking out is so much easier and look at the benefits. You are on your path of creativity. Hang in there...

Oh thank goodness I'm not alone. I have a friend who keeps threatening to come and tidy me. I know where everything is though so mitts off.

There are quite a few "neatniks" on our board, but I see, you are NOT one of them - either am I. But once I started organizing I found so many neat things I FORGOT I had - its just like Christmas! I can't sew in my room either - I have taken one of my many machines to the basement to sew, but it is pretty cluttered itself now ----- I am a slob....A fellow quilter should hire out and help organize and straighten ---only THEY could appreciate all the "treasures" we all collect!
