Very funny. I may try this. My hubby put a lock on his shed and I ask for a key. He asked me what I wanted it for and I said I might want to go in there when he was not home. His relpy was that it was his shed. Well, I proceeded to tell him that it may be his shed but, it was my bandsaw, scrollsaw, drill, desk, etc. etc. He laughed and gave me a key.

The tools in the toolbox at my house are mine too... his tools are all at the shop (along with those that have gone "missing" from my toolbox!)
I found an almost new Craftsman plunge router at a garage sale last week, $30! I distracted DH with my fab find whilst sneaking in the 60-yards-for-$1-a yard fabric I'd found there too...

Yup! I think the lock idea was the best and that is some serious lock. LOL No more onion scissors.

When my husband looks for scissors he never looks in my sewing room. I gave him his own and keeps them in one of his many tools chests! His and her tool chests!

I buy the $1 & $2 scissors with orange handles, since none of my good scissors are that color. And everyone, including grandchildren know that you can use them if the handles are orange. Otherwise, you have to get permission from me. It works because I keep a small pair of those orange-handled scissors in every room so there is no excuse to go "looking" for a pair in my sewing room.
