thank you
I think that is what my Gram called crazy quilts - she just kept adding fabrics until it was beautiful. We could see our old clothes, aprons, etc. They were the best quilts. None remain because they were used on our beds every night. I have one that is in shreds, my son will probably put it in the trash.

Being the anal retentive person that I am, I've spent the last couple of days 'organizing' my scraps (meaning cutting them into squares/rectangles) The smallest dimension I have is 1 1/2 inches. Whatever's smaller, it gets pitched

Depends on how small of stuff you like to work on. I won't save anything smaller than 2 1/2 inches wide.

Thank you, Scrap Happy. Wouldn't you know, this is something I've been doing for years. The first quilt I made by this method was for my daughter as she went away to college. She is now 53 years old.l Will wonders never cease?

Crumb quilts are scrap quilts made with tiny pieces of fabric. If you like scrap quilts you'll like them. I think they are beautiful quilts and they use up fabric that may otherwise be pitched in the trash. This helps the earth and our wallets at the same time :)

Here are 2 tutorials about them. Enjoy!

You could google crumb quilts or crumb quilt tutorials and find more info on them.

I would suggest going to Bonnie Hunter's web site, Custom Quilting.com and checking out her scrap saver's system. See if it is anything you could use. I think it would be great if a person took the time to get it going. That's been my problem, I don't take the time to do it. But it sounds great. :-D
