Quilter53, my blocks are 6 1/2 unfinished. I made the pinwheels as shown on the Missouri Quilt utube tutorial that was posted by Susiequilt on page one of this topic. The 16 patch blocks are made from 2 inch strips. You can see more instructions on Quiltville.com under Patches and Pinwheels. Bonnie Hunter uses a different technique for making the pinwheel blocks. I had never tried the Missouri Quilt method, so I wanted to give it a whirl. I like it, but you do end up with bias edges.

Could you do 4-patches instead of 16 patch? A little different look but might still be pretty.

I had thought about doing a 9 patch. I don't know if it would look the same.

Day 16!
I hope everyone is trying to stay on track.
I'm up to date but slowing down as I think I may change my mind about my arrangement! I seem to always do that! I never know what I will have at the end until it's done!

I need honest opinions, I have been making four blocks at a time. When I first laid the fabric together I wasn't sure of it, now that it's together it is growing on me. I would like some opinions before I make the other three.
Thank you all very much!
David

It looks good to me. Love the colors.

So, after swearing to Never, Never do something like this. I joined the Pinwheel Project. Here is what I've done so far - 30 nine inch blocks unfinished in NO PARTICULAR order. I'm literally using scraps that were donated from someone who worked at a shirt factory that closed years ago and some of my mothers Hawaiian shirts from the 1950s. Although my beds are standard size I think I'll make this one king sized so maybe my daughter can use it after I'm gone.

Was wondering how everyone is doing. Life got in the way this week. I have the big one together, now just need to add sashing, borders, etc. Then I made a QFK with pinwheels, it is in the same state of completion. I need to get busy today. Okay, I'm getting off here and finishing them up so I can post.....in just a minute....one more thing....uuuummmm......
