I have never heard of that manufacturer, but, I have to admit, the Willcox & Gibbs has a unique beauty. Is that a British company?

She's beautiful, I've never heard of that brand, is it American ? How about Willa ? Do you know where she was born?

That's an amazing machine. I've never seen one like it, but she sure is gorgeous. What a sweet find!

Mine apparently had years of wear as most of the gold is rubbed off. But there is some on the back still. I have it in the corner of the room so it was hard to get a photo of the back. It's a neat machine! According to the Sewsalot site, mine was born in 1900. Hope these pictures come out right, always have trouble getting them on.

Back of machine with gold not rubbed off.

What an elegant, beautiful machiine. I just love the foot shaped treadle. Another piece of history saved.

I showed the picture to my husband and said "I want one of these". He said he saw a machine like that in the shoe repair shop. He said it was made to sew leather. Funny because that is what happymrs said earlier in this discussion. I was so surprised when he acted like everyone has one of these. Is it possible that there were several models of similar machines? Of course the shoe repair is long gone.
