I like mettler silk finish for machine sewing.
mettler has a waxed hand quilting thread ( strong )500 yards about $8.50
YLI has a waxed hand q. 1200 yds. that is excellent for about the same price.
John James is my favorite hand quilt needles

dungeonquilter, which Superior pre-wound bobbins do you use? I think I've seen Bottom Line, Masterpiece and So Fine.

Do you buy the type L bobbins? Are those like class 15's?

I've been buying the type A bobbins from ThreadArt and I really love them, but I would like to find an option that has matte thread in them. The ThreadArt pre-wound bobbins have a very fine shiny thread, which is great for some things, but I'd like to get some bobbin thread that mimics cotton in appearance. :)
I have been using Bottom Line - L type. I am planning to purchase some Masterpiece tomorrow at our guild shop hop. the Bottom Line is polyester, and the Masterpiece is cotton.

I use Gutterman. if you can't find it anywhere else, go to www.mdifabricate.com She is my LQS here in Bar Harbor, ME and does phone orders for now til she gets herself setup for web orders. She carries a complete line of it.
