I hate to rain on the parade here and I think making blocks and sending them in to some place like moda is a nobal thing to do and its awesome the THOUGHT behind this project....HOWEVER!!!!! You NEVER NEVER NEVER give a Veteran a quilt that looks like a flag. For to many of these guys that have been wounded they suffer from PTSD! I know my husband is one of them and being given even a quilt to lay over them reminds them of being in a coffin draped with a flag! Which causes MAJOR setback in recovery from this horrible disorder.
Moda should have a little tack and realize this or at least ask questions first.

Sorry for my interruption I am sure many of you will send blocks anways, just wanted to put the truth out there!

Thanks for this information. I printed out the pattern and will take this to share with our Church Quilters Group on Tuesday. I am sure they will be happy to make a star block for the Flag of Valor Quilt. Betty Lee

I am in a group who meets once a month. We make different things. Sometimes crochet chemo hats, toys for children's hospitals, etc. They will love this project.

I am going to present this to my guild on Wednesday evening. Thanks for letting us know.
Semper Fi indicates the marines who are near and dear to my heart. However, this will be for ALL soldiers. I hope we are able to go beyond our goal!

I have printed the pattern and plan on making a couple of blocks. Will take to our local quilting store and see if they will take part too.

I'll do at least one, and I've blogged about it to help spread the word. Thanks for the info!

I just emailed my two friendship groups about this. What a great idea.
