Welcome Losie!!! There are others at all stages making this quilt. We'll all be here to help out...give you little cyber kicks when you get side tracked...LOL...

Bev, sometimes applique was the answer for me...it got the blasted thing done! At week 9...I couldn't do a y seam for squat...today...I CAN do one though!

I agree with Patti and this quilt is definately a learning curve even for those of us who sewed for years. I too had never done a "Y" seam, but boy can I do them now. When the going gets tough on this one do it by any means you can, applique or whatever, no one will ever know except you.

OK guys, I have a major decision to make and I need your input. My DH wants me to use my embrodery machine to do the plain tris. I did two designs that will fit of the ones I have available. If I use the flower one it will be in all different colors. Tell me your opinions please. I want to do them by hand but don't want to hurt his feelings.

The one with flowers.

This other one might be too heavy?

Jan, hmmmm...thats a tough one. It would be nice to use the embroidery machine and I'm trying to imagine both of those designs on the tweeners around the entire quilt. Of the 2, I like the flowers the best. Would you be doing each tweener in different colors or doing the flowers more in the colors of your blocks, but the same design/color all the way around?

Yes I would use the colors closest to my quilt colors and I like the flowers best too. I am working on hand quilting my tris now Cre8. He bought me that wonderful machine and I barely use it. He thought it would be nice if I used it for the plain ones. He also has very good taste so it might look super. I appreciate your opinions guys!
