Isn't there a very similar quilt to the Double Wedding Ring around somewhere which is much easier to sew? One which gives a similar effect, but without involving curves? I'm trying to remember the name of the thing.

I saw something awhile back that showed strips of fabric stitched together and then there was a curved template that was used to cut the arc from all those strips at once. I thought it looked like an easy way to make the DWR, but can't remember where it was and I didn't mark it. Figures!!LOL '

I would piece a quilt or two before I attempted the double wedding ring. It is one of my favorite patterns. But I think doing a couple simplier first will get you used to matching seams.

Good luck..we know you can do it.

There is a paper piecing method for the double wedding ring. It makes it easier, but you might want to find a more experienced quilter to help out with it. I have a mag. with the pattern in it. If your interested let me know and I'll look and see which it is. I believe it's new this month in one of the 3 I get :)
